The Addiction No One Sees Coming

The familiar taste on my lips, as it is the first taste on my lips every morning. The smell of fresh ground coffee brewing throughout the house makes it seem like maybe it is possible to get out of bed. The colors of black and white mix while pouring in the creamer turning the liquid in the cup to a light or dark brown. The warm cup of coffee that both hands are wrapped around, waiting to take a sip. Coffee can be dated back to as early as the 15th century and is now one of the most popular drinks in the world. Because of the caffeine in the coffee it can affect the health of a person; however, most research done says that moderate amounts of coffee can be beneficial.
I remember the reason why I started wanting to drink coffee was because my parents drank it every morning. I was little then so I wasn’t allowed to have caffeine but the foreign liquid was too enticing not to be interested in. Years later I was finally able to try coffee and I loved it. At first it was just a cup occasionally but after a while it progressed to every morning and now if I don’t have coffee I feel like I don’t have energy to start my day. According to Mary D Eades, ‘Doctors Complete Guide to Vitamins and Minerals’, “Although we think of caffeine in coffee as the “wake-me-up” chemical, chronic use of it may cause fatigue, headache, moodiness, and depression in some people.” Maybe that’s why I always seem to need a second and third cup of coffee throughout the day. However, keep in mind that coffee and its addiction and health effects are a huge controversy with researches and no one knows exactly if it is good or bad, depends on who was ask.
