essay structure

 I have struggled with my writing, trying to answer the 'so what' question, trying to figure out why other people would want to hear my story. The idea of the 'hermit crab structure' kind of blew my mind. I really liked the way Moore's essay pieced together a list of seemingly unconnected things into something that had a lot of insight. I don't know that I can successfully emulate this type of technique, but I definitely want to try it. I think I have always been stuck on the idea that a story needs to be told from beginning to end. Trying something out of the ordinary could really help me overcome some of my insecurities about my writing.
