Mr. Green Jeans

I appreciate how this story was written stylistically. Braiding, intertwining.  It was told through a series of vignettes with somewhat unrelated stories about father figures. I like Moore’s approach to this because it gave us readers a job, the way I see it, its intention was to find meaning and connect the pieces within the essay.

This is one of my favorite’s essays so far; it brought me back to all the old T.V. shows I used to watch. I remember watching Captain Kangaroo and remember Mr. Green Jeans. This showed Moore’s feelings about fatherhood and reluctance about becoming one.
